Back from Vacation & Excited About 40 Days of Love

Hi Everyone!

Well, Amy Jo & I are just back from Austyn & Josh's wedding in California.  It was beautiful and I couldn't be happier for them

We also spent a few days in Yosemite and I talked Amy Jo and Micah into hiking to the top of Half Dome with me.  It's nearly a 5000 ft climb, over 17 miles, and the last 400 ft. you pull yourself up using steel cables.  It's insane, but we did it!

It was a little crazy, but will sure make for some great sermon illustrations.  Amy Jo and I still have blisters and sore muscles.  Micah, irritatingly enough, is doing just fine!

Now that I'm back, I'm really excited about the "40 Days of Love" series that will begin on Sept. 19th.  I'm counting on 125% of the adults in our church being involved not only on Sunday mornings, but also in one of the small groups.  That means that we need to have each group include at least 25% of people who have been invited from outside of our church.

Who do you know who might want to work at having better relationships?  That's what this study is all about ... learning to love others like Jesus loved!  I want to strongly encourage you to host or join one of these groups.  They only last for 6 weeks - and what you learn will change your life.  Additionally, ask people from your work, family, or neighborhood to join you.  They don't even have to come on Sunday mornings - but I'm hoping that after they get acquainted with the people in your group - they might want to.

Check my blog regularly.  I'll be sharing my personal experiences with you and hope to encourage you on your journey through our "40 Days of Love".

Love you guys,
Pastor Monte
